Empowered Women Empower the World
Artist quote
"As a young girl, I was inspired by many strong, influential women. They taught me the importance of education and pushed me to pursue my own dreams. This mural was painted to spread awareness of the impacts of girls’ education and how it has proven to benefit local communities and the environment. While this is just one mural in the community, just one project, any small action creates a ripple effect that can hopefully spread to something bigger. Change starts with awareness and building support at a local level. As I painted this with the community, I hoped to empower young girls to pursue their education and their dreams."
Importance of Education
Investment in good quality education can help young women thrive and lead healthier lives for themselves and their families. It can provide them with opportunities to choose their future prospects. Educating girls has proven to improve communities and is projected to have a large influence on mitigating climate change.
In addition, it can lead to --
Increased economic growth, agricultural productivity, family stability, and resilience to natural disasters
Reduced rates of child marriage, rates of infant and maternal mortality, and rates of HIV/AIDS and malaria
